Louise (Buckman) Hollingsworth, 85, of Paris, MO, passed away at Monroe Manor Nursing Home in Paris, on Friday, March 7, 2014.
Mrs. Hollingsworth was born on Feb. 3, 1929, on a farm near Indian Creek, MO, the daughter of Albert & Maude (Willliams) Buckman and the youngest of 13 children. She attended school at Indian Creek and graduated from Holy Rosary School. She came to Paris and worked at the courthouse in the Collector’s office and at The Paris National Bank. She was married to Dennis (Loy) Hollingsworth on June 12, 1949, in Monroe City, MO and they celebrated 42 years of marriage. He predeceased her on July 9, 1991. She and Loy owned and operated the Pelsue Shoe Store until 1987 when they retired. Louise was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Cradle to College Club, Charter member of Mark Twain Country Club and Laureate Sigma Sorority. She and Loys’ favorite thing to do was dancing to big band music and family get-togethers. Louise enjoyed her family and friends, playing cards, golfing, and volunteered for meals on wheels and at Monroe Manor.
She is survived by 4 children, Dennis Loy “Hoot” (Lisa) Hollingsworth of Paris, MO, David Hollingsworth of Silex, MO, Janet (Charlie) Coffman of Warrensburg, MO, Kenny (Kathy) Hollingsworth of Waverly, MO; 11 grandchildren, Michelle, Ashley, Kelli, Charles, Meili, Max, Jacob, Kara, Luke, Stephanie and Wendy; 8 great grandchildren, Case, Brandon, Courtney, Ava, Anna, Peyton, Carson and Beau; 1 great-great grandchild, Connor. She was preceded in death by her 12 brothers and sisters, Claude, Alberta, Ceceilia, Charlie, Leo, Reynold, Maurice, Alfred, Wilfred, Elizabeth, Gerald, and Teresa, a daughter-in-law, Linda and grandchildren, Billy and Stormy.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at the St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Paris, Mo. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 10th at the St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery at Paris, Mo. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Frances Cabrini Church.
