A pedestrian was left with minor injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Marion County, near Palmyra, on Monday afternoon.

A pedestrian was left with minor injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Marion County, near Palmyra, on Monday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol the accident happened at 4:40 p.m. on Missouri 168 at Route FF, three miles east of Palmyra.

A 2000 Mazda Protégé was being driven north by 34-year-old Michael W. Ames of New London. When Ames crested a hill and observed traffic stopped ahead of him, he swerved to the right. The Mazda left the roadway where it struck the pedestrian – 51-year-old Brian W. Powell of Hannibal.

Powell was transported by Marion County Ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital.
