John M. Creasman, 68, of Monroe City, passed away at 6:25 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, at Yager-Kendrick Funeral Home in Monroe City with Rev. Steve Goughnour officiating. Visitation is Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
John was born April 25, 1945, in Monroe City, the son of Roy and Zona (Legg) Creasman.
Mr. Creasman graduated from Monroe City High School in 1963 and from Northeast Missouri Teacher’s College in 1967. He taught science in Wright City for one year. John then taught in the Hazelwood School District, where he retired, and moved back to Monroe City to take care of his mother until she passed away.
 John was an avid duck and turkey hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Monroe City Ducks Unlimited and the Monroe City Christian Church.
Survivors include two cousins, Sarabeth Stevens Moore and husband, William of Phoenix, Arizona and Rebecca Stevens Early of Marshall; and John’s dog and best buddy, Rex.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
