  • Jack Jason Greathouse, 38, of rural Ralls County, was arrested Tuesday, Dec. 17, by officers from several agencies on charges of alleged sexual assault and assault.
Ralls County Sheriff Gary Dinwiddie reported Greathouse is scheduled to be arraigned at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, before Judge David Mobley at the Ralls County Courthouse in New London, after a warrant has been issued.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol provided the following details about Greathouse’s arrest. At approximately 9:20 a.m. Dec. 17 Troop B officers were requested to assist the Ralls County Sheriff’s Department in locating Greathouse, 38, who was suspected of sexually assaulting a woman in rural Ralls County earlier in the day.
Officers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Ralls County Sheriff’s Department, Marion County Sheriff’s Department, and Monroe City Police Department began searching for the suspect, and at 11:50 a.m. a Patrol aircraft located Greathouse’s pickup truck in a field southeast of Monroe City, Mo., in rural Ralls County.
Officers were able to make contact with Greathouse, and after a short standoff he was taken into custody without incident. Greathouse was transported to the Marion County Jail in Palmyra, pending the issuance of an arrest warrant.
The State Patrol reported the charges for which Greathouse was arrested are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
