Missouri license office bids are being accepted at the Missouri Office of Administration in Jefferson City for Monticello and Shelbina in Northeast Missouri, and a contract has been awarded for the office in Monroe City.
Bids may be submitted until Jan. 10, 2014, according to the Missouri Department of Revenue (DOR).
Prospective bidders may tour the Shelbina office from 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, to learn how a license office is operated. In fiscal year 2013, more than 12,000 transactions were conducted at the Shelbina office, generating $41,095 in agent processing fees.
The office in Monticello conducted more than 15,000 transactions in fiscal year 2013, generating $50,872 in agent processing fees. Prospective bidders may tour the Monticello office from 4:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, to learn how the office is operated.
The Office of Administration, in conjunction with the DOR, has awarded the management contract for the Monroe City license office to the City of Monroe City, which has been the agent for this office since 1975.
The office will remain at 109 Second St. in Monroe City. In fiscal year 2013, more than 11,000 transactions were conducted at this office, generating approximately $37,699 in agent processing fees, according to the DOR.
The DOR oversees 182 license office, which are each operated by independent agents.
