Hannibal and Ralls County law enforcement officers conducted a vehicle chase between 8 and 9 p.m. Tuesday.
The chase began in Hannibal, when officers tried to stop a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed out of a dead end road.
The vehicle kept going, and police followed the car out Fulton Avenue. Ralls County deputies caught up with the vehicle at Scott’s Lane, but the car kept going.
At 8:40 p.m., the car was heading south on Main Street in New London, and Pike County officers were notified that the car could be heading that way.
Hannibal officers positioned themselves at Warren Barrett and U.S. 61, in case the vehicle turned back toward Hannibal.
While Hannibal police were in pursuit on Fulton Avenue, they reported the car was all over the road, weaving between the road and the shoulder. Officers speculated via the police scanner that it was believed one or more of the vehicle’s tires were damaged.
The vehicle was described as a White Lincoln Towncar.
At 9 p.m., EMS officers were en route from Perry. They had been placed on standby while the chase was under way. Officers at the scene asked EMS to expedite, but it remained unclear what injuries the suspect sustained.
