Tamiera Smith, right, 15, of Hannibal, won three awards at the Minnesota Diamond Nationals Karate Tournament the first weekend in October, 2013. In her age division, she won first in weapons, second in Kata and fourth in sparring. This was her fourth national tournament. She has been a student of Cindy Powell, left, for seven years. Tamiera holds a first degree Black Belt. She is the daughter of Erica Smith, and the granddaughter of Candy Weems, Trudi Perkins, John Perkins and Hazel Smith. She is a sophomore at Hannibal High School. Her next tournament will be in February, 2014.
