Robert H.”Bob” Tompkins, 91, of Hannibal, Missouri, died at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, October 27, 2013 at his home.
A Celebration of Mr. Tompkin’s Life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013, at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. There will be no visitation.
Mr. Tompkins was born September 16, 1922, in Huntington, Missouri, to Charles A. and Shirley Finley Tompkins.
He was married to Rose Mary Watson on September 29, 1948, in Hannibal, MO. She preceded him in death December 9, 1999.
Survivors include 5 children, John Tompkins (Rebecca) of Quincy, IL, Michael Tompkins (Linda) of Hannibal, MO, Gail Tompkins of Hannibal, MO, Jill Vincent (Darrell) of Fowler, IL, and Maria Tompkins of Monroe City, MO; 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by 3 sisters, Elizabeth Noodleman, Mildred Foreman and Ruth Till.
Mr. Tompkins was a United States Army Veteran, serving his country during World War II.  Bob was a retired truck driver.  He liked watching sports, doing crossword puzzles and he enjoyed playing bridge.  Mr. Tompkins attended Big Creek Presbyterian Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Salvation Army in care of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
