Palmyra businessman, Steve Lewis, said the number of vendors for Monday evening’s Taste of Palmyra was the largest ever, with crafts and food available in boths located throughout downtown.
“There are about a gadizillion people,” downtown, he said, offering a perfect opportunity to sample what the area has to offer.
“I just walked down the street,” he said, “and there were fried pickles, the churches were offering all kinds of food, and County Market has shish kabobs.
The Palmyra Chamber of Commerce hosts the Taste of Palmyra each year on a date near Halloween. The events start off with kids showing off their costumes, then there are games for the kids and trunk or treat.
The downtown is lighted up for the festivities, which continue until 9 p.m.
Money raised by the chamber goes to downtown beautification.
“The entire downtown is full of people,” he said.
