  • A long-time member of the Hannibal public school district’s support staff is retiring.
    During Wednesday night’s meeting of the Board of Education it was announced that Erma Zumwalt, custodian at the Early Childhood Center and Board of Education office, is retiring on Dec. 1.
    Zumwalt has been a member of the district for 23 years.
    In other support service changes:
    • Brenda Krigbaum was hired as a food service worker at Veterans Elementary.
    • Bobbie Tate was hired as a food service worker at Oakwood Elementary.
    • Nancy Pipkin was hired as a food service worker at Veterans Elementary.
    • Carla Hamilton was hired as a food service worker at the Early Childhood Center.
    • Allison Sanders was hired as an attendance secretary at Stowell Elementary.
    • Gina Rodenbaugh was hired as a library clerk at Stowell Elementary.
    • Chris Dennis was hired as an aide at the middle school.
    • Mark Bunten was hired as a study hall supervisor at the high school.
    • Rebekah Embree was hired as an aide at Mark Twain Elementary.
    • Edward Gregg was hired as an aide at the middle school.
    • Tammy Hutchinson was hired as an aide at the middle school.
    • Brittney Ludwig was hired as an aide at the Early Childhood Center.
    • Katie Klingemann was hired as an aide at Oakwood Elementary.
    • Elizabeth Miles was hired as an aide at Eugene Field Elementary.
    • Jessica Morriss was hired as an aide at Veterans Elementary.
    • Telli Shepard was hired as an aide at Stowell Elementary.
    • Tomika Kyle, a a food service worker at Eugene Field Elementary, resigned her position effective Oct. 1.
    • Cory Koehler, custodian at the middle school, resigned his position effective Oct. 7.
    The hirings are for the 2013-14 school year.
    The following teaching personnel changes were approved:
    • Whitley Lake was hired as a special education teacher at the middle school. She received her BS from the University of Missouri, St. Louis. She has no prior teaching experience.
    • Mindy Brown, a teacher at the middle school was granted maternity leave from Oct. 4 to Nov. 1.
    • Will Clayton, special education teacher at the middle school, resigned his position effective Oct. 14.
    The hiring is for the 2013-14 school year.
