  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers personnel at Mark Twain Lake have announced that all facilities closed during the government shutdown have been re-opened for use by the recreating public. Indian Creek, Ray Behrens, and Frank Russell Campgrounds have resumed their regular schedule of operations. All major boat ramps are available for vessel launch and all hunter/fisherman lots are now available for use.
Visitors are reminded, however, that despite the end of the government shutdown, the Annual Halloween Walk (Pumpkin Event) originally scheduled for Oct. 18 and 19 at Indian Creek Campground remains cancelled. The public will not be allowed to walk through the campground as the roadways will remain open for vehicular traffic. Any visitors wishing to enter the campground will be issued a visitor’s pass to a specific campsite only.
For information, contact the Mark Twain Lake Project Office, 20642 Highway J, Monroe City, Missouri 63456 or telephone the office at 573-735-4097.
