Trinity Episcopal Church, in downtown Hannibal, is hosting a service of the Blessing of the Animals, according to Reverend Dawn-Victoria Mitchell, Trinity’s rector.
The Blessing of the Animals will take place at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, on the front lawn of Trinity (at Fourth and Bird streets). In the event of bad weather, the service will move inside to the Guild Hall.
All animals are welcome to come receive an individual blessing. Plush “friends” and a photo of a pet to bless are also welcome. For the comfort and safety of all, all pets should either be on a leash or in an appropriate carrier.
