  • Two Hannibal residents were injured in a traffic crash Monday afternoon in Lincoln County.
    According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol the accident happened at 2 p.m. on U.S. 61 0.1 of a mile north of Route U.
    The mishap occurred when a 2006 Chrysler Sebring, operated by 49-year-old Juliana M. Morris of Moscow Mills swerved to avoid debris in the roadway and struck a 2012 Chevrolet Suburban driven by 43-year-old John P. Dean of Hannibal. The collision caused the Chevrolet to leave the roadway and overturn.
    John P. Dean sustained minor injuries while a passenger, 40-year-old Janet M. Dean of Hannibal, was left with moderate injuries. Both were wearing safety devices at the time of the crash.
    The Deans were taken by ambulance to St. Joseph Health Center West.
