Hannibal-LaGrange University’s annual traveling children’s show has been announced as King Midas and the Golden Touch by Willard Simms. The cast will perform Oct. 9-11 in four different elementary schools in the area with on-campus performances at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, at HLGU and at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, in the Parker Theatre. Admission for the HLGU showings is $1 per person for all ages.
The group will also put on a performance during Hannibal’s Folk Life Festival at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, in Nipper Park. Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to this park performance.
This show is student-directed by senior theatre major Lindsey McCloy. It has a running time of approximately 30 minutes and though the target audience is kindergarten through fifth grade, the show is fun for all ages.
