Lena Fae Linnenburger, 81, of New London, Mo., passed away at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at her daughter’s home in Santee, Calif.
Lena was born July 26, 1932, in Wamac, Ill., to Mr. David Benjamin and Edna Irene (Ring) Daughtery.
Lena was married to Paul H. Linnenburger on January 11, 1949, in Centralia, Ill.
She had been employed as a manager at the San Diego County Assessor’s Office for 10 years. She retired from that establishment in 1990. Lena was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Hannibal, Missouri since 1990.
Survivors include Lena’s husband, Paul H. Linnenburger Sr.; her daughter, Donna Leigh (Timothy) Montgomery; and sons, Kenneth R. (Mary Ann) of Santee, Calif., Lawrence D. “Larry” of Oceano, Calif., and Paul H. Jr. of Boise, Idaho; nine grandchildren, Trisha (Scott) Cunningham, Trina Montgomery, Michelle (Al) Coley, Ashtynne Montgomery, Timothy James “T.J.” Montgomery, Janice Linnenburger, Mark Linnenburger, Ashley and William “Billy” Linnenburger; and six great-grandchildren, Tyler, Bailey, Jacob, Adilyn Marie Cunningham, all of El Segundo, Calif., and Isleigh and Josiah Montgomery of Torrance, Calif. She loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Sharon Kay (Sonny) Leasman of Galva, Ill., and Sarah Jane Madson of Murrieta Springs, Calif., and many nieces and nephews.
Lena was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, David, Ronald, Maxie, Richard and James Daughtery; and six sisters, Pearl, Esther, Noreta, Norma, Susan and Barbara.
Visitation was from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2013, in the Conrad Mortuary, Lemon Grove, Calif.
Services were at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2013, at the Conrad Mortuary, in Lemon Grove, Calif., with the Rev. Dr. Richard Burkey conducting a memorial service.
Hannibal visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday 13, 2013, at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home, Hannibal, Mo.
Hannibal services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 14, 2013, at James O’Donnell Funeral Home, in Hannibal, Mo., with the Rev. Michael W. Stoerger conducting. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park, in Hannibal, Mo.
