A Hannibal man was one of nine people injured in a two-vehicle accident Thursday night in Randolph County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol the collision happened at 11 p.m. on U.S. 24, 0.5 of a mile east of Moberly.
A 1998 International was begin driven westbound by 51-year-old Oscar R. Osorio of Harlingen, Texas. Also westbound was a 2007 Mack operated by 53-year-old Andrew C. Eitel of Hannibal.
According to the accident report, the International was traveling at approximately 45 mph when it was struck from behind by the Mack, which ran off the left side of the road and came to rest in a ditch.
Eitel, who was wearing a safety device, suffered minor injuries. He was taken by ambulance to Moberly Regional Medical Center.
In addition to Oscar R. Osorio, seven passengers in the International, ranging in age from 16 to 46, sustained minor to moderate injuries that required medical treatment. None of the International’s occupants were wearing safety devices.
