The Hannibal Police Department is preparing for its 33rd Annual Children’s Halloween Party.
The HPD is attempting to raise funds to provide the party, reporting it has been the goal of the HPD for the past 33 years to provide a safe alternative (to trick or treating) for children on Halloween night.
The party is provided free to the children of the community and features candy, hot dogs and soda for the children, as well as games and prizes.
Popular features of the annual party are the costume contest and the haunted tent.
The party is always funded entirely from donations from the community and supported by volunteers setting up and working the party.
Donations for the party may be mailed or delivered to the Hannibal Police Department.
