Eugene “Sonny” Totten, 73, of Hannibal, died at 12:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, at his home, following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at the Grand View Funeral Home in Hannibal. Pastor Van Williams will officiate. Burial will follow at the Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.
Mr. Totten was born on Thursday, Dec. 21, 1939, in Lakenan, MO, the son of Frank and Pauline Ahern Totten. He married Brenda Allen on Dec. 20, 2008, and she survives.
His parents; a sister, Doris Griffen, and a brother, Jerry Totten, preceded him in death.
He is survived by two sisters, Frances Golden and Margaret Krigbaum, both of Hannibal; two daughters, Tammy (James) Totten and Sheila Totten, both of Hannibal; a son, Frank (Fonda) Totten, of St. Louis, Mo.; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; a special niece, Diana Foubester of Hannibal and numerous nephews and nieces.
“Sonny” earned his Eagle Scout badge in Hannibal and he belonged to the Hannibal Coin Club. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, and in fact he “never met a stranger.” Mr. Totten worked for the Chrysler plant in St. Louis for 30 years.
