  • A Kirksville man was killed and two other people were injured in a three-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in Marion County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol the accident happened at 2:15 p.m. on Missouri 6 three miles west of Taylor.
A 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix, driven by 31-year-old Leonard J. Sims of Kirksville, and a 2013 GMC truck, operated by Richard B. Wilson, 50, of Baring were westbound. Eastbound was a 2006 Buick Terraza, driven by 80-year-old Allen E. Massner of Maywood.
According to the accident report, the Pontiac pulled out to pass a vehicle on a curve and struck the Buick. Sims, who was not wearing a safety device, was ejected from the car, which came to rest off the highway. The GMC was struck by debris from the vehicles that collided.
Sims was transported to Marion County Ambulance to Blessing Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Allen E. Massner and an occupant in the Buick, 73-year-old Rosemary Massner, both sustained minor injuries. Each was wearing a safety device at the time of the crash. Allen E. Massner planned to seek medical treatment. Rosemary Massner was transported to Blessing Hospital by ambulance
