Services for Carl E. Leake, 91, of Perry, will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at Bienhoff Funeral Home in Perry with Rev. David Todd officiating. Burial will be in Lick Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Mr. Leake passed away at 6:35 a.m. Aug. 12, 2013, at Monroe Manor Nursing Home in Paris.
He was born July 31, 1922, in Ralls County, the son of Stephen and Margaret Yancey Leake.
He was married to Rhoda R. Taylor on May 18, 1946, in Hannibal. She preceded him in death July 13, 1999.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Ann Henkle, and one half-brother, Malone Yancey.
Mr. Leake was a lifetime area resident and a graduate of Perry High School. He retired from Southwestern Bell after having served as a lineman for over 20 years. He enjoyed taxidermy, watching Cardinal baseball games, hunting, and fishing. He was Christian by faith.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lick Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Cleve Holliday, Butch Houf, Bill Wright, John Briscoe, Dickie Williams, and Kenny Holliday.
