Hannibal-LaGrange University has added a new string ensemble class to the Music Department. This new ensemble for string players of any age and ability will include both HLGU students and area community members.
Anyone involved in taking lessons, or who would like to play in a string ensemble, is welcome to attend. For HLGU students wanting to continue to play, the class can be taken for one credit hour.
This new ensemble is to be the beginning point for growing a Hannibal-LaGrange University Orchestra, which will also include winds and percussion.
Rehearsals will run every Saturday from Sept. 7 to Dec. 7, and from Jan. 18 to April 19. They will be held from 10 a.m. to noon with beginning players meeting from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and intermediate to advanced players meeting from 11 a.m. to noon.
Ensemble performances will be planned based on the progress made during the fall semester.
