  • Belinda G. Clayton, 62, of Burlington, Iowa, died at 1:02 a.m. Thursday, August 1, 2013, at the home of Les Clayton.

  • Belinda G. Clayton, 62, of Burlington, Iowa, died at 1:02 a.m. Thursday, August 1, 2013, at the home of Les Clayton.
    She was born December 16, 1950, in Hannibal, Mo. She was the daughter of Frank W. and Annie Howald Clark.
    On September 5, 1970, she married Les Clayton in New London, Mo.
    Belinda worked at Holiday Inn for 11 years and PPG for 21 years. She retired from PPG in 2011.
    She was a 1968 graduate of Mark Twain High School in Center, Mo.
    She enjoyed going to the Steamboat Center for Bingo. She liked any kind of animal and enjoyed her pets, working, mushroom hunting and karaoke.
    Survivors include one brother, Dewey Clark of Center, Mo.; one sister, Frankie (Danny) Epperson of Frankford, Mo.; one nephew, Jamie (Jan) Epperson of Frankford, Mo.; one great-niece, Erika Epperson-Denton; one great-nephew, Chais Epperson; and her husband of 14 years and friend, Les Clayton of Burlington.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; and one nephew, Franklin Epperson.
    The funeral service for Mrs. Clayton will be 3 p.m. Sunday, August 4, 2013, at Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend Dean Graber officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
    Cremation will be entrusted to Thielen Crematory following the service. Burial will be in Barkley Cemetery in New London, Mo., at a later date.
    A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice.
