A pair of Bowling Green residents were seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday morning in Pike County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol the crash happened at 10:51 a.m. on Route J west of County Road 316.
A 2001 Dodge Dakota was being driven east on Route J by 86-year-old Theodore J. Grote of Bowling Green. Coming west on Route J was a 2001 Ford F150 operated by John A. Deters, 58, of Bowling Green. Reportedly the Dakota crossed the center line and struck the F150. Both vehicles wound up off the road, with the Ford striking a utility pole.
Neither Grote or Deters were wearing a safety device. Both men were taken by ambulance to St. Joseph’s Hospital West.
