The American master of the Flamenco guitar, Ronald Radford, will be performing at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug, 4, at the Hannibal Arts Council, 105 S. Main St. in downtown Hannibal.
Tickets are $10 per person ($5 per person for Hannibal Arts Council members) and will be available at the door. No reservations are required. His performance is being funded in part by a Touring Program grant from the Missouri Arts Council.
Radford will present a varied and entertaining program of Gypsy melodies and Flamenco techniques. He verbally paints a picture for his audience of the Flamenco art form, native to southern Spain, by lacing his program with commentary.
A Fulbright Scholar, Radford’s concerts have taken him to universities and concert halls in 15 countries and have included such notable places as New York’s Carnegie Hall, Washington’s Kennedy Center, UCLA’s Royce Hall and the University of the Americas in Mexico.
In addition to the Aug. 4 performance at the Hannibal Arts Council, Radford will also present outreach concerts while in town.Outreach performances will be held at the Hannibal Nutrition Center, Luther Manor Nursing Home and a special performance during the Hannibal Arts Council’s Wild & Wacky Art Adventure on Saturday, Aug. 3.
