  • Frances I. Happel, 88, of Monroe City, Missouri, past away Sunday, July 21, 2013, at Hannibal Regional Hospital, Hannibal, Missouri. She was born May 29, 1925, in Ralls County, Missouri, the daughter of Richard and Pearl Wike Berry. Frances was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, West Ely, Missouri. She attended Monroe City High School, Monroe City, Missouri. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and cooking. Frances loved her pets and animals very much. She married Frank E. Happel, November 14, 1945, he passed away, April 28, 1990. Survivors include two daughters: Sandy Janes and Husband Bill, Monroe City, Missouri; Karla Obert and Husband Brian, Palmyra, Missouri. Four grandchildren: Billy Janes (Cathy), Stacie Painter (Kevin), Kelly Sullivan (George), and Kayla Cunningham (Nathan). Six great-grandchildren: Kelby and Kelson Painter, Kalie and Elijah Sullivan, and Pearl and Jack Cunningham and Ashtin Janes. One great greatgrandchild Vianae Mayfield. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, and one special neighbor Martha Harn. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Larry Happel. Two sisters Mary Young and Florence Lipp. Five brothers Tom, Ginge, Bob, Rich and Wes Berry. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2013, at the Garner Funeral Chapel, Monroe City, MO, Burial will be from the St. Jude’s Cemetery, Monroe City, MO, Pastor Kenneth Schamber will officiate. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Friday morning until time of service at the Garner Funeral Home, Monroe City, MO. Pall Bearers will be Paul Berry, Richard Lee Berry, Terry Berry, Bill Janes, Kevin Painter, Nathan Cunningham, and George Sullivan.
