  • Two people were injured, including one from Shelbina, in a late-afternoon crash Friday in Macon County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol the mishap happened at 5:40 p.m. on eastbound U.S. 36, five miles east of Macon.
A 2003 Ford F250 operated by 45-year-old Clint E. Hipkins of Shelbina reportedly struck the unit being towed by a 1993 John Deere 4560 farm tractor being driven by 54-year-old Charles B. Foreman of Anabel. After the collision the tractor went off the right side of the road where it overturned. The pickup ran off the left side of the road and caught fire.
Hipkins and Foreman, who were wearing safety devices when the crash occurred, suffered minor injuries. Both men were transported by private vehicles to Samaritan Hospital in Macon.
