  • Gladys Ruth Fuqua, 102, of Hannibal, Missouri, died at 9:25 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal.
    Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 15, 2013 at Clover Road Christian Church in Hannibal.  Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in  Hannibal. The James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal is in charge of arrangements.
    Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Monday until the time of services at Clover Road Christian Church.
    Mrs. Fuqua was born July 25, 1910, in New London, Missouri, to John and Etta Haden Epperson.
    She was married to Virgil L. Fuqua on March 21, 1936, in Hannibal, Mo.  He preceded her in death on December 18, 1982.
    Survivors include her nieces and nephews; Dale Griffin (Helen), Donna Steinkamp (Paul), Sue Quattrocchi, James Roy Fuqua, Darrell Fuqua (Jerry) and Doug Fuqua (Evelyn) ;  1 brother in law, Oran Sharp; and many great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, great great nephews and cousins and numerous great friends that she loved very much.
    She is preceded in death by her parents; step mother; 2 sisters; 2 brothers; and nieces and nephews.
    Mrs. Fuqua worked for 31 years at the International Shoe Company and she also was a cook at the grade schools and the seminary.  She was a very talented cook and was well known for her banana bread.  Gladys loved doing crafts and liked making clowns and rabbits.  She was a member of Southside Christian Church for over 54 years and later Clover Road Christian Church. She was an active member of the Harvester’s Class at Clover Road Christian Church where she was the oldest living member.
    Memorial contributions may be made to Clover Road Christian Church or the Donor’s Choice in care of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
    Pallbearers will be Vince Griffin, David Steinkamp, Jim McMillen, James Roy Fuqua, Stuart Link and Roger Guyer.
    Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Griffin, Jack McMillen, Oran Sharp, Dr. Lynn Walley, Dan Powell and Darrell Fuqua.
