  • The public is invited to an open house at Mark Twain State Park and Historic Site near Stoutsville on Saturday, July 27. The open house will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Mark Twain Birthplace Memorial Museum.
    Representatives from the facility will provide information on future plans and answer questions. Visitors are also welcomed to share comments and suggestions. This informational meeting is part of an ongoing effort by Missouri State Parks to ensure citizens have input on facilities and services offered in state parks and historic sites.
    The Mark Twain Birthplace State Historic Site is located off of Highway U near Florida, Mo. People requiring special services or accommodations to attend the meeting can make arrangements by calling the site directly at (573) 565-3440.
