The Hannibal Arts Council Gallery Committee challenged area artists to create original works using vibrant and intense colors, focusing on one or multiple colors from the color spectrum. The resulting pieces will be revealed at an opening reception from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, at the Hannibal Arts Council, 105 S Main St. This time corresponds with the Second Saturday Gallery Night activities. Thirty-eight area artists chose to accept the challenge and submitted over 50 pieces of work.
This exhibit is sponsored by Mark Twain Cave Complex and the Missouri Arts Council. The opening reception will be hosted by the Garden Study Club of Hannibal. The public is invited to the reception and is welcome to visit the gallery from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. The Hannibal Arts Council is closed Tuesdays and Sundays. An additional evening viewing option will be Saturday, Aug. 10, during Second Saturday Gallery Night.
