Mary Jane Hanlin, 82, of Hannibal, Missouri, died at 10:20 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2013, at her sister’s home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2013, at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Pastor John Davis will officiate. Private inurnment will be at Jacksonville Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Mo.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of services Friday at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hanlin was born November 19, 1930, in Hannibal, Missouri, to W. B. and Bertha Mae Marlowe DeLaPorte.
She was married to Charles L. Hanlin on August 3, 1948, in Hannibal, Mo. He preceded her in death July 9, 2011.
Survivors include five children, Ruth Hanlin of Stoutsville, Mo., Sandra McBride of New London, Mo., Sheryl Dawson of New London, Philip Hanlin of Stoutsville, Mo., and Becky Hanlin of Hannibal, Mo.; two brothers, Arthur DeLaPorte of Gas City, Ind., and Russell DeLaPorte of Hannibal, Mo.; two sisters, Carolyn Jean Roach of Branson, Mo., and Esther Ann Hirner of Palmyra, Mo.; four grandchildren, Deanna Motley, Lisa Bross, Marci Sutton and Patrick Montgomery; eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her brothers, Ernest, William, James and Robert DeLaPorte, and one granddaughter, Beth Ann Nobe.
Mrs. Hanlin was previously an operator for Great Lake’s Telephone Company and later she was a  Licensed Practical Nurse and caregiver for area handicap children in her home. She loved to sing and enjoyed helping others. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and liked dining out with her friends. Mary was an active member of Tabernacle of Praise Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Community Loving Care Hospice in care of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
