  • “The weather was perfect, and we couldn’t have asked for anything better,” said Candace Miller, Hannibal’s Fourth of July parade chairperson with the Hannibal Jaycees.
“There were no accidents and no incidents, and the judges had a very good time,” Miller said.
The parade had more than 100 entries, and each paid a fee. The Jaycees, sponsor of the parade, will “donate all proceeds -100 percent - to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,” Miller reported.
The parade floats were judged, based on the theme “Hotter than a firecracker.”
“There were about 25 floats,” Miller said, “with a lot of local businesses and quite a few new businesses.”
    Parade winners were:
    • First place - The Crossing
    • Second place - Hannibal National Bank
    • Third place - Bleigh Construction
A Seen on Scene parade photo gallery will be posted on hannibal.net.
