Bonnie Jean Johnston, 61, of Hannibal, Missouri, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away at 4 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at her home after her bout with cancer.
Graveside services and burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2013, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hannibal. Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate.
The James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal is in charge of arrangements.
There will be no visitation.
Mrs. Johnston was born April 9, 1952, in Hannibal, Mo., to Richard L. and Catherine I. Wilson Mitchell.
She was married to Ronald L. Johnston on Aug. 18, 1972, in Hannibal, Mo. He survives.
Other survivors include 6 children, Brian Kelley (Lianne) of Hannibal, Mo., Cathy Johnston Kolarik (Denny) of Hannibal, Mo., Robin Johnston Rice (Robert) of Hannibal, Mo., Ronald Richard Johnston (Tisha) of Hannibal, Mo., Clinton Leroy Johnston of Hannibal, Mo., Ronald Lewis Johnston Jr. (Vicky) of Center, Mo.; 2 brothers, Richard Bradley Mitchell (Suzanne) and Roger Allan Mitchell; 2 sisters, Cheryl Mitchell Brown (Bruce) and Stacy Mitchell Roberts; 14 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, nephews and one special nephew, Jimmy Hinds.
Mrs. Johnston was a homemaker. Bonnie’s life was a dedication of love, caring and concern for her family. She brought joy to her family. Bonnie loved spending time with her family. She also liked to play games on the computer and enjoyed cooking with her daughters. She always loved morning coffee at her house. Mrs. Johnston attended the Southside Baptist Church as a child and she was a Baptist by faith.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home of Hannibal, Mo.
