  • Nicholas Meyer, 67, of Hannibal, Missouri, died at 12:38 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at the Harry S. Truman Veterans Memorial Hospital in Columbia, MO.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 1, 2013, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Hannibal. Father Mike Quinn will officiate. Burial with full military honors by Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post #55 will be at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery.
    Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday with a prayer service at 12:45 p.m. at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
    Mr. Meyer was born March 11, 1946, in Frankford, MO, to Peter J. and Amazella Rarden Meyer.
    He was previously married to Arlene Janes in 1965, she preceded him in death on December 19, 2002.
    He later married Donna Evanoff on May 12, 1975. She survives.
    Other survivors include three sons, Nicholas Henry Meyer (Tina) of Hannibal, MO,  James Thomas Meyer (Melissa) of Hannibal, MO, Louis Wayne Meyer (Susan) of Hannibal, MO; two sisters-in-law; Elaine Meyer and Margaret Meyer; special friend, Eva Meyer; 14 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one expectant grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Pete, Edward and David Meyer; one great-grandchild, Conner; and one nephew, Paul Douglas Meyer.
    Mr. Meyer was a United States Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam era. He worked as a book binder for over 40 years at Western Publishing and later at Royal Publishing in Quincy, IL. He loved working on cars and being outside. He enjoyed fishing and having fish fries, barbecues and camping with his family. Mr. Meyer loved his family and enjoyed being with them.
    Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church in care of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
    Pallbearers will be Curt Foster, Adam Kaiser, John Keppner, Jeff Meyer, Mike Meyer, and Ray Calhoun.
    Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Meyer’s grandsons.
