  • Rose Frances Mudd, 98, of Monroe City, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at the Hannibal Regional Hospital, Hannibal, Missouri.
    She was born June 2, 1915, in Indian Creek, Missouri, (Swinkey), the daughter of Rose Frances Wimsatt Bono and Lawrence Sylvester Bono.
    Rose married Hugh Francis “Rudy” Mudd at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Monroe City, Missouri, on June 18, 1938. He preceded her in death on July 27, 1974.
    She attended Holy Rosary School in Monroe City, graduating in 1933.
    She worked for Henderson Produce Company in production before becoming a stay at home mother. In 1953 she returned to Henderson’s, subsequently becoming a lab technician. She also worked for Monroe City Diecasting.
    Mrs. Mudd was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Monroe City for over 90 years. She was a member of the Altar Society, participated in Quincy Cursillo, Adoration Chapel and Prayer Group for many years. She had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother, and St. Jude.
    Rose was past Board Member of the Monroe City Nutrition Center as well as past president of the Board. She also belonged to the former Century Club, MFWC.
    Rose treasured her faith, family, alma mater Holy Rosary School, traveling with family, reading, cooking, and she found joy in every day life.
    Mrs. Mudd is survived by two daughters, Joan (Richard) Dichtelmiller, Del Rio, Texas, and Rose Ellen Mudd, Monroe City, Missouri; numerous beloved nieces and nephews including, Debbie Bono White (Dan); Deanna Bono Beckley (John), Dan Mudd (Sue), Bernadine Mudd, Donnie Mudd (Joyce), Sue Mudd Mattingly (Gale), Jane Ellen Mudd, Kathy Treaster (Carl) and Vicki Evans (Randy) of this area, Bob Bono (Jackie, Larry Bono, Marshall Bono (Karen), Phyllis Wolf, Raymond Bono (Jen), Randy Bono (Ellie), Harold Bono (Charlotte), David Bono (Glenda), Richard Bono (Vicky), Betty Bridges, Fran Tom, Henry Bono, Mary Crowson (Noel), Janie Robinson (Max), Barbara Dolbeare (Gary), Theresa Richman (David), Donna Thorsteinson (Robbi), Carol Young (Bryce), Shirley Winthrop (Bill) and Patricia Yates from outside the area.
    In addition to her husband, Hugh, Mrs. Mudd was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lambert Bono, Robert Bono and Lawrence Bono; sisters, Mary Margaret Bono Cooper and infant sister, Agnes Monica Bono.
    A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Monroe City, Missouri, with Father Mike Penn officiating. Burial will be at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Monroe City.
    Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday evening with a Rosary led by the D. of I. at 4:45 p.m. and a Scripture Service at 7 p.m. at the Garner Funeral Home and Chapel, Monroe City, Missouri.
    Pallbearers will be Bob Bono, Raymond Bono, Marshall Bono, David Bono, Dan Mudd and Donnie Mudd.
    Memorials to the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Holy Rosary School Centennial Foundation or the Holy Rosary Cemetery Maintenance Fund are suggested.
