Jean Ann Powell, 60 ,of New London, Mo. died at 3:10 p.m. on Sunday, June 16, 2013, at her home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO. Burial will be at Salem Cemetery in Center, MO. Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Jean Ann was born on July 20, 1952, in Belleville, IL to Lacy and May Carman Thomas.
She was married to James E. Powell in 1971. He survives.
Other survivors include: her mother, May Thomas; 2 children: Lori Kealen (Ted) of New London, MO and Shayne Black of Springfield, MO; 3 brothers: Jim Thomas (Heidi), Bucky Thomas (Sheree) and Dan Thomas (Sue); 2 sisters: Theresa Egbert (Ron) and Becky Tucker (Ken); 1 brother-in-law, Jim Sheffield; 3 grandchildren: Lacey Powell, Samantha Sue Powell and Bailey Ann Powell; 1 great-granddaughter, Olivia Marie Powell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jean Ann was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Sheffield; father, Lacy Thomas; father-in-law, James M. Powell; mother-in-law, Mary Jo Powell; brother-in-law, Rusty Maple; and nephew, Kyle Thomas.
Mrs. Powell was a factory worker for many years, most recently retiring from Serf Brothers. She enjoyed playing softball and volleyball in her younger years. Jean Ann also liked playing on the computer, antiquing, camping, fishing and most of all spending time with family.
Pallbearers will be Brian Egbert, Ken Tucker, Ted Kealen, Jeffrey Thomas, Brandon Pemberton, and Jason Sheffield.
Honorary pallbearer will be Larry Powell.
Memorials may be made to the James E. Cary Cancer Center.
