Floyd R. Webster, 77, of New London, Missouri, died at 1:45 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2013, at Luther Manor Nursing Center in Hannibal.
Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Pastor Tom Day will officiate.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
Mr. Webster was born April 15, 1936, in Williamstown, MO to Elmer R. and Helen N. Dice Webster.
He was married to Leola M. Walker on July 5, 1955, in Luray, MO. She survives.
Other survivors include 6 children: Pansy Kolb (Bill) of Hannibal, MO; Patsy Whitley of Fulton, MO; Alice G. Hull of Hannibal, MO; Rita Webster of Houston, TX; Penny Dixon (Kent) of Bowling Green, MO; Hazel L. Wood (Rob) of LaCygne, KS; 2 brothers: Roderick Webster (Margie) of Lewistown, MO and Charles W. “Chuck” Webster (Kay) of Canton, MO; 1 sister, Anna Belle Shorck (Alan) of Maquoketa, IA; 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Garland Webster; 1 grandson, Jeremy Whitley; and 1 great-granddaughter, Mollie Davis.
Mr. Webster was a United States Navy Veteran. He served during the Korean Conflict on the USS Carter Hall. He worked at J.C. Penney’s auto department for 18 years as a mechanic and then retired from Pace Industries after 18 years. Webster was a member of the Loafer’s Car club, Road Riders for Jesus and Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post #55. He attended Prince Avenue Baptist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society in care of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Webster’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren and Rosemary and his friend’s at the Shady Rest Café.
