The Lewis County Sheriff’s Department arrested Eric Lee Piner, 34, of Ewing, Mo., on June 4 after investigating a burglary in rural Ewing on June 3.
Piner is charged with burglary in the second degree, a Class C felony. On June 6 he remained in Lewis County Jail with bond set at $10,000.
Officers said Piner is alleged to have entered a farm building on Napa Street in rural Ewing on June 3, using a pry bar. Piner’s 1995 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck was spotted near the property.
Piner admitted entering two vehicles at another location in rural Ewing and stealing compact discs, officers reported.
The sheriff’s department suspects other individuals are involved and requested anyone with information about the theft of items from motor vehicles or other buildings in Lewis County call the department at (573) 767-5287.
