  • Highways 79, 54 and Louisiana bridge re-opened

  • After being closed by the flooding Mississippi River, state Highway 79 south of Hannibal was re-opened Sunday afternoon, June 2, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT).

  • After being closed by the flooding Mississippi River, state Highway 79 south of Hannibal was re-opened Sunday afternoon, June 2, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT).
    Also, U.S. 54 and the Champ Clark Bridge across the Mississippi at Louisiana, Mo., were re-opened at approximately 6 p.m. June 2, after the river water had receded from the Illinois side of U.S. 54.
    All road conditions and road work can be viewed online at www.modot.org and clicking on the Traveler Information Map.
    MODOT reported cell phones owners may sign up to receive text alerts for emergency road conditions such as road closures due to flooding and other inclement weather. Sign up at the same website under the “Travelers” tab.
