The soccer season might be over for the Hannibal girls’ team, but the awards are still rolling in for the Lady Pirates.
Senior forward Theresa Sheffer was named second team All State Friday while her teammate, junior goal keeper Kaitlyn Edge received Honorable Mention Status.
Sheffer scored Hannibal school record 35 goals over the course of her senior season. In addition, Sheffer also set the single game scoring record with 6 goals in a game.
Nine of Sheffer’s goals were game winners and she added 7 assists over the season as well.
Edge finished the year with 76 saves and allowed just 20 goals. Of those 20 goals allowed, only two of them came during North Central Missouri Conference play. She recorded 16.5 shutouts as well as 18.5 wins. With the exception of her saves total, all Edge’s numbers set new school records for goal keeper.
Also earning All State honors was senior defender Katherine Allen. Throughout Missouri’s three classes of soccer, there are a total of 22 girls who are named Academc All State and Allen was one of them.
Allen collected 4 goals and 11 assists over the course of  the season. Two of her goals were game winners.
Allen finished the year with a 4.32 grade point average.
Earlier this week, Sheffer and Edge were named to the All Region team for Class 2 Central Missouri and the St. Louis area.
