  • Quincy University hosted its 150th commencement exercise May 12. A total of 298 graduate and undergraduate candidates were awarded degrees.The following area residents received degrees:

  • Quincy University hosted its 150th commencement exercise May 12. A total of 298 graduate and undergraduate candidates were awarded degrees.The following area residents received degrees:
    • Deanna Sublette, daughter of Michael and Marcia Blickhan of Taylor, graduated with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. The new graduate completed high school studies at Palmyra High School in Palmyra. The new graduate completed a bachelor’s degree at Columbia College in Columbia. During her college career, Deanna was involved in the following activities and/or achieved the following honors: Chi Omega: Outstanding Graduate Student in the Clinical Mental Health track of 2012, Chi Sigma Iota, and the International Honors Society of Professional Counseling.
    • Andrew William Sparks, son of Bill and Debbie Sparks of Lewistown, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. The new graduate completed high school studies at Highland High School in Ewing. The new graduate completed an associate degree at John Wood Community College in Quincy. During his college career, Andrew was involved in Mock Trial and Law Club.
    • Chase Johnston, son of Wayne and Jerri Johnston of Palmyra, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design. The new graduate completed high school studies at Palmyra High School in Palmyra.
    Morgan Higgins, daughter of the late Lester and Susan Higgins of La Grange, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. The new graduate completed high school studies at Quincy Notre Dame HS in Quincy.
    • Tad Montgomery Luebbehusen, son of Glenn and Jill Luebbehusen of Ewing, graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Business Finance. The new graduate completed high school studies at Highland High School in Ewing. During his college career, Tad was involved in men’s golf, the Institute of Management Accountants, Circle K International.
    • Mitchell Coval, son of Curt Coval of Wentzville and Donna Hobson of Troy graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Nursing. The new graduate completed high school studies at Troy Buchanan HS in Troy. During his college career, Mitchell was involved in the following activities and/or received the following honors: Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society. The new graduate received Cum Laude honors.
