  • Bennie P. Hendren, 92, of New London, Missouri, died at 2:42 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at his home, among family.
    Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2013 at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Bill Dexheimer will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hannibal immediately following.
    Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
    Mr. Hendren was born September 16, 1920, in Quincy, Ill., to Edward and Ida Ludwig Hendren.
    He was married to Dora M. Ott on April 27, 1943. She preceded him in death Nov. 28, 2008.
    Survivors include six children, Ruth Ann Hudelson of Hannibal, Mo., Larry (Gloria) Hendren of New London, Mo., Carolyn “Cricket” (Gary) Constable of Farber, Mo., Don (Janna) Hendren of New London, Mo., Donna Feigenspan of Hannibal, Mo., and Patty (Greg) Slaybaugh of Columbia, Mo.; one brother, Dan Hatton (Marlene) of Hannibal, Mo.; 16 grandchildren: Terry Riley, Michelle Ryan, Brande Saxbury, Stephen Hendren, Aaron Hendren, Jennifer Tomasiak, Teddy Constable, Richard Hendren, Alexis Welch, Stacey Meyers, Shelly Kirby, Shelby Feigenspan, Shannon Burnett, Mandy Mazuch, Jaime Bazat and Brandon Slaybaugh; 30 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews that Bennie was very close to.
    Mr. Hendren was preceded in death by his parents; one son-in-law, Darrell Hudelson; and several brothers and sisters.
    Bennie was a member of the Teamster Union; he previously worked at Mark Twain Produce and Hannibal Produce. He liked raising his livestock, gardening and fishing. His most memorable moments were spending time with family and friends.
    Memorial contributions should be made to American Diabetes Association in care of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
    Pallbearers will be Terry Riley, Teddy Constable, Shelby Feigenspan, Aaron Hendren, Stephen Hendren, USAF, Major “Ret”, Richard Hendren, and Brandon Slaybaugh.
