John “Jack” M. Brown, 84, of Hannibal, died at 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Beth Haven in Hannibal.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 13, 2013, at the Willow Street Christian Church in Hannibal. Pastor Minnie Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at the Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 13, 2013, at the church, from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Mr. Brown was born on Tuesday, September 14, 1920, in Hannibal, the son of Frank M. and Susie Little Brown. He married Vyrle Miller on October, 2, 1950, in Hannibal, and she survives.
His parents; three brothers, Joseph Brown, James C. Brown and William “Raz” Bird; two sisters, Lula Mae Bennett and Frankie W. Powell and a grandchild, David W. Brown, preceded him in death.
Jack is survived by two daughters; Jacqua Williams of Columbia, MO and Marjorie S. Brown of Hannibal; one son, James F. (Avis) Brown of Dallas, TX; a niece, Mary Anna Alexander; seven grandchildren, Tanisha N. Brown, Cassie Brown, William Brown, John Brown, James Moten Jr., Daniel Brown and Jamesa Brown and nine great grandchildren.
Jack was a member and elder of the Willow Street Christian Church and a life member of the NAACP.
