Norman P. McClaren, 78, of Hannibal, died at 3:51 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.
Memorial services with full military honors by Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post #55 will be at 3 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2013, at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO.  Pastor Jim Allen will officiate.  
Private burial will be at Grand View Burial Park at a later date.
Mr. McClaren was born August 15, 1934, in Hannibal, MO, to Howard “Pete” and Gladys Lugena McClaren.
He was married to Margaret Charlene Margriter on November 21, 1979, in Hannibal, MO. She preceded him in death June 7, 2012.
Survivors include 5 step-children: Cindy K. Cihlar of Hixon, TN; Tammy Weinsheim of Hannibal, MO; Lisa Weathers of Hannibal, MO; Frances White of Hannibal, MO; and  Vickie Swain of Martinsburg, MO; 13 step-grandchildren, 18 step-great-grandchildren, his special friend and caregiver, Mary Tallman, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 step-son, James White II, and 1 step-daughter, Theresa Diane Kuhn.
Mr. McClaren was a United States Army Veteran. He retired from Buckhorn Rubber Product after 30 years. Mr. McClaren enjoyed camping in his younger years and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He loved his beloved dog “Chew Chew”. Norman was a long-time member of the Elk’s Lodge in Hannibal, MO.  He was a Christian by faith.
