Anna “Peggy” Newlon Anderson, 76, of Hannibal, died at 7:15 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at the Willow Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at the Grand View Funeral Home in Hannibal. Pastor Bill Haffner of the Riverview Church of the Nazarene will officiate. Burial will follow at the Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 10, 2013, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Grand View Funeral Home in Hannibal.
Mrs. Anderson was born on January 22, 1937, in Hannibal, the daughter of Franklin and Susie Green Bates. She married James F. Newlon on November 20, 1956 and he passed away on April 22, 1988. She married Lester Anderson on December 22, 2001, and he survives.
Her parents and a brother, Frankie Bates, preceded her in death.
She is survived by a daughter, Cathy (David L.) Stewart of Hannibal; three sons, James (Debbie Pickett) Newlon of Sierra Vista, AZ, Randy (Marilyn Stanford) Newlon of Kinderhook, IL and Richard (Marilyn Leonard) Newlon of Junction City, KS; a stepdaughter, Connie (Gene) Maxwell of Carthage, IL; two stepsons, Kenny Anderson and Steven (Angela) Anderson both of Hannibal; two brothers, Clarence Bates of Hannibal and Danny (Darla) Bates of Saverton; two sister in laws, Dorothy Newlon and Carol Bates; nine grandchildren; four step grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Peggy was a member of the Riverview Church of the Nazarene and loved to travel, fish, go camping and spend time with her family.
Pallbearers are Joseph C. Newlon, Robert T. Newlon, Michael L. Newlon, Michael F. Adams, Kevin M. Newlon and Marcus A. Montague.
