Donald Ned Morris Sr., 65, of Center, Missouri, died at 1:05 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013 at his home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2013, at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. The Rev. Billy Wayne Farran will officiate. Burial with full military honors by Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post No. 55 will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hannibal, Mo.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
Mr. Morris Sr. was born September 22, 1947, in Hannibal, Mo., to Charles Morris and Mary Ruth Graves.
He was married to Judy Saxbury. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include his fiancé, Lori Foubester; one son, Donald Ned Morris Jr. (Julie) of Center, Mo.; two stepchildren, Adam and Nicole Dunn of Moberly, Mo., and Amanda and Nick Curless of Madison, Mo.; one brother, Danny Gibbons (Susanne) of New London, Mo.; one brother-in-law, Mike Saxbury (Edna); four grandchildren, Jacob Morris, Joshua Morris (Lacee), Jamie Morris and Josie Morris; five stepgrandchildren, J.D. Oller, Casie Hunter (Joe), Holly Henderson, Heather Henderson and Michael Henderson; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents who raised him, J.O. Thomas and Julia Elizabeth Thomas; and one brother-in-law, Paul Saxbury.
Mr. Morris was a supervisor at Dura Automotive for the past 20 years. He also previously worked in fiberglass manufacturing for over 20 years. Mr. Morris was in the United States Naval Reserves. He enjoyed spending time with his family and he loved camping and fishing. Donald was a Baptist by faith and was a charter member of Center Baptist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family, in care of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Morris, Joshua Morris, Jamie Morris, Donald Ned Morris Jr., Adam Dunn and Nick Curless.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wiley Trower, Mark Stueck, and The Landing friends, Jerry Foubester, Mike Powell, Doug Cox, Nathan Gibbons, Daniel Gibbons, and Brad Gibbons, Bryan Gibbons, Bobby Lee Farran, Larry Cowden, Leroy Herring and Mr. Morris’s nieces and nephews.
