  • Wayne F. “Bud” Englehardt, age 90, of Palmyra, Missouri, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013, at the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra.

  • Wayne F. “Bud” Englehardt, age 90, of Palmyra, Missouri, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013, at the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra.
    Bud was born June 14, 1922, in Galva, Illinois, to W.E. and Hilder Andersson Englehardt.
    He was married to Betty Evelyn Taylor April 6, 1947, in Hannibal, Missouri. She survives of the home.    
    Survivors include his son, Larry Englehardt and wife, Jill, of Palmyra; brother, C.E. Englehardt and wife, Ann, of Orlando, Fla.; sister, Betty Bickhaus and husband, Bob, of Macon, Mo., and grandsons, Kyle and Chad Englehardt of Palmyra.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughters, Debbie and Cathy Englehardt.    
    Mr. Englehardt founded Bud’s Paint & Body Shop in 1945. After his retirement he continued working part-time with his son and grandson at the shop.
    Bud was a 1941 graduate of Palmyra High School. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Palmyra, Missouri.    
    Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2013, at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. The Rev. Terry M. Buster will officiate. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra, Missouri, with military honors by the Boots Dickson American Legion Post No. 174 and Norfolk-Smith VFW Post No. 11041.
    Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel.
    Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, Palmyra, Missouri.    
    Pallbearers will be John White, Donnie Bemis, Ron Nelson, Glen Ebbing, Greg Cramer and Steve Kiefaber.
    Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Bud’s Paint & Body Shop and Paul Bickhaus.
