Friday saw a handful of tree plantings taking place in Hannibal as part of the local observance of Arbor Day.
The first planting took place Friday morning in Riverview Park, where a dogwood tree was put in.
On Friday afternoon, a Japanese lilac was planted at Mark Twain Elementary School as a group of fourth graders looked on.
Approximately at hour later, a tree provided by BASF was planted at the Cardiff Hill Overlook Park in Hannibal.
A tree was also planted Friday morning in Hospital Park on the Hannibal Medical Campus, in front of the Hannibal Clinic.
That tree dedication was in recognition of the 20 years Hannibal Medical Campus has served this community and surrounding communities at its west Hannibal location.
