Er ... OK, we will!

Er … OK, we will!

Here’s another in the series of posts spotlighting favorite Springsteen covers chosen by the Blogness staff. Check back over the next week or so as each of our bloggers chooses five (or so) favorites and let us know what we left out. This collection by Leann:
Eddie Vedder My City of Ruins

Eddie Vedder covering anything by Bruce Springsteen is my favorite and Eddie performing with Bruce is an unbelievable treat (something I experienced twice at Wrigley in 2012!). Eddie’s voice is so emotional and beautiful that his passion flows through the lyrics. Here’s My City of Ruins from the Kennedy Center Honors show in 2009.

Brian Fallon Backstreets

Nothing compares to Bruce’s version of Backstreets yet Brian Fallon’s rendition is a heart filled homage to the original. Brian proves he can put his own spin on an already incredible song.

Garbage and Screaming Females Because The Night

This week was the first time I’d heard Garbage and Screaming Females cover Because the Night. Wow! Was my immediate response. While watching this vid I was blown away by the power and intensity these two women put into this song.

Kate Tucker I’m on Fire

Kate Tucker has created a rich version of I’m on Fire. It may not have the sex and intensity of Bruce’s original, but it has the emotion.
