Mrs. Georgia Lou Frankenbach, 90, of Hannibal, Missouri, passed away April 20, 2013, at the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra, Missouri. Arrangements are pending with the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra.

Georgia Lou Frankenbach, age 90, of West Ely, Missouri, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra.
She was born on July 24, 1922, in Pike County, Missouri, to Robert and Christie Wilson Brown. She grew up in Pike County, near Frankford, where she graduated from the Frankford High School. After graduation, she attended the Nursing Program at St. Mary’s Hospital in Quincy, Illinois, where she graduated in 1943. After graduation she worked at Jefferson Barracks Hospital in St. Louis before returning to Hannibal to work at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.
On October 24, 1948, she was united in marriage to Marvin Carl Frankenbach at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hannibal, MO. They lived and farmed in the West Ely community for many years.
Georgia was active in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, holding various offices in the local and zone of the LWML, enjoying many of the conventions both state and national that she attended as a delegate.
Georgia was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church at West Ely since her marriage to Marvin.
Georgia returned to the nursing profession in the early 1960’s as a Recovery Room/Surgical nurse at St. Elizabeth’s. In the mid 1980’s Georgia continued her nursing career working at Maple Lawn Nursing Home until the summer of 2004.
Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Harold and Donald Brown, her sister Margaret Sue Haden,  and son-in-law, Glenn Schade.
Georgia is survived by her husband, two sons: Kevin (Sue) Frankenbach of Hannibal, Ross (Donna) Frankenbach of Palmyra; two daughters: Connie Schade of Grandview, MO and Marla (David) Armes of Grandview, MO; four grandsons: Adam (Becky) Frankenbach of Wardsville, Mo., Blake Frankenbach of Columbia, Mo., Clinton (Laura) Frankenbach of O’Fallon, Mo., Sean Frankenbach of Palmyra; 3 granddaughters: Christie Frankenbach of Grandview, Edawna Armes of Camdenton, Mo. and Lainie Armes of Grandview, and 3 great-grandchildren: Deon Ross, Dashaye Ross, and Elaina Frankenbach.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in West Ely, Missouri. Rev. Kenneth Schamber will officiate. Burial will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra.
Pallbearers: Adam Frankenbach, Blake Frankenbach, Clinton Frankenbach, Sean Frankenbach, Christie Frankenbach, Edawna Armes, and Lainie Armes.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Immanual Lutheran Church Cemetery or the Maple Lawn Nursing Home Auxiliary.
