All five of Hannibal's flood gates will be installed Thursday afternoon. That announcement was made Wednesday afternoon by John Hark, the city's emergency management director.
The process of installing the gates will begin around 1 p.m.
According to the National Weather Service, the river is expected to crest at 25.3 feet Monday evening.
In advance of the food gates going in, the riverfront will be closed to all traffic effective at midnight Wednesday.
